Many say the eruption of Yellowstone today could cause a world wide catastrophe. Due to the explosion two thirds of the United States would become an uninhabitable wasteland. Specialists have speculated that around 90,000 people would die initially from the eruption. Due to the volcano's eruption it would release sulfur into the atmosphere causing weather patterns to change dramatically. The whole country would suddenly become very cold and sunlight would be limited. There is also a predication that due to the drastic changes in weather, crops would not be able to grow thus leading to a famine.
